Vampire Facelift

Isolating Growth Factors

Next, we draw a sample of blood (see why it’s called a vampire facelift?)—about two teaspoons’ worth—and transfer it to a centrifuge to isolate and extract the natural growth factors within it. These factors are platelet-rich plasmas that, when activated, release upward of eight growth agents the body typically uses to heal injured tissue. They’ll increase collagen production and encourage new blood flow to your refreshed skin. To reintroduce the growth factors into your skin, we’ll use numbing cream and a small needle to ensure the procedure is nearly, if not completely, painless.

Recovery and Maintenance

Because a PRP vampire facelift doesn’t involve incisions, the recovery period is simple—as little as 48 hours are all that’s needed for any swelling, redness, and sensitivity to diminish. This process is natural and will allow the skin to heal on its own; you simply need to take it easy for those two days. For maintenance, you’ll just want to avoid strenuous exercise and sun exposure for about a week, just as a precaution while your skin is recovering and adapting.
